Relax in the beautiful, peaceful Allier countryside amidst many cultural places of interest. 7 km from Montmarault (exit 11 from A71), you will find Brénazet, just outside the village of Vernusse.
Brénazet is surrounded by two and a half hectares of fields and gardens, with a small campsite in the orchard. In this old farm we have three large and modern apartments for 4 to 6 persons. The view is stunning. More information about the cottages (apartments).
Camping at Brénazet
Erect your tent on the campsite with natural swimming pool. Also, we have tents for rent on the campsite. And furthermore, you can stay in our beautiful safari tents with private bathroom. These tents are located behind the farm, immersed in nature. Hence, very quiet and peacefull.
Activities at Brénazet
You can relax at Brénazet and enjoy hanging around the pool with the kids or you can join us for several activities during the week. First of all: go canoeing on the Allier with Ron. Don’t miss the Pizza’s on Saturdays or the pancake evening with the French “ jeu de boules” game. Enjoy “table d’hôtes”, dinner with the other guests. Kids love the pool, the little playground, the bikes and skelter and the space they can explore. You can try Yoga with Mariken twice a week. If you like yoga a lot come in june or september and do yoga every day during the yoga wellness weeks.

In the nearby area you can go on walking or biking excursions. There are bikes, canoes and kayaks available. Local rivers provide ideal canoeing. You can go swimming with the kids in rivers and lakes. Route maps for these activities are available for you. Also, we can provide you with maps of surrounding villages.
Explore the area of Brénazet
The oldest oak forest in Europe, La Forêt de Tronchais, only a short car trip away, offers both plenty of shade and natural swimming waters. The Gorges de Sioule and the Allier River are ideal for the beginning canoeist or kayaker. Anglers can choose from different fishing ponds, while St. Pourcain features a golf course. The historic cities of Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand and Montluçon are well worth a visit for their characteristic town centres, museums and churches.
In summer, many villages organize markets, brocantes, craft fairs (fête à la ferme), medieval festivals and other festivities. Montmarault offers a number of grocery stores and a supermarket. If you would like to eat out, we can suggest some restaurants.
Brénazet is a 6 hour drive from Calais. These directions (choose hoverport Calais and than Vernusse in the Allier 03) will guide you from Calais to Vernusse.
Brénazet is 2 km outside the village Vernusse and 9 km from the highway A71 (exit 11). The Cities Vichy, Moulins and Montluçon are at about 45 km from Vernusse. From the A71 (exit 11) or the N79 you reach a roundabout in Montmarault (with tourist information). Take the directon center you pass Carrefour on your left and at the next roundabout take left. At the next junction take the D68 to the left in the direction Vernusse Blomard.
In Vernusse you will reach a crossing which has a Brénazet sign posted, guiding you to the left. This road curves to the right bringing you past a number of farms (follow the signs). At the end of this road, you will reach Brénazet where we will welcome you to our farmhouse.
